Tunisian Olive Oil Prices 2025 and Market Developments
Insights, forecasts, and expert opinions from Tunisia’s olive oil producers
📈 Expected Price per Liter
Najah Saïdi Hamed, President of the National Chamber of Olive Producers, announced during an interview on “Midi Show” that the initial price per liter of olive oil for the 2025 season will range between 12 and 12.4 Tunisian dinars.
The price may be adjusted upward or downward depending on international standards and global market trends.
🌿 Production Forecast and State Support
Tunisia’s olive oil production for this season is expected to reach between 460,000 and 500,000 tons, marking a notable increase from the previous year (around 340,000 tons).
Ms. Saïdi highlighted an improvement in government support for the sector, particularly in financing and structure, to enhance Tunisia’s competitiveness worldwide.
🏛️ Organizing the Sector
She called for the creation of a state-supervised holding company to manage the entire olive oil value chain — from production to commercialization — ensuring both quality and sustainability.
🌍 Export Challenges and Global Market
Although exports — especially to the United States — have grown in recent years, shipments have been delayed this season due to new import taxes.
She emphasized that the olive oil market is highly sensitive to global trade policies and economic fluctuations.
🤝 Economic Diplomacy
Ms. Saïdi praised the President’s call to strengthen economic diplomacy and promote Tunisian olive oil internationally. She noted that embassies play a crucial role in expanding global recognition of Tunisian products.
⏳ Harvest Season and Financial Priorities
The olive harvest is expected to begin within the next three weeks. The current priority, according to Ms. Saïdi, is ensuring sufficient financial liquidity for farmers to guarantee a successful season.
